As a kid growing up on a farm, one of my favorite pastimes was to line up dominoes, push one over and watch the rest fall.
Back then, we knew what was in our food because we grew it. But now, we have to trust labels.
I joined Yes on 522 because ensuring that genetically engineered foods get labeled is just commonsense.
It’s because of your support and the committed group of concerned citizens that brought together thousands of volunteers to collect over 340,000 signatures of voters from all over the state that we have this unique opportunity to make history — Washington can be the first state to pass labeling. A “yes” vote on Initiative 522 would give us more information about what’s in the food we feed our families. Just like the nutritional and country of origin labels that already exist, we have the right to know if what we eat is genetically engineered or contains genetically engineered ingredients.
It’s going to take all of us to push that first domino over. Will you join the farmers, fishing families, health professionals, parents, business owners and consumer advocates in supporting Yes on 522?
Thank you for your support,
